First Years Visit Cork Pops

All first year students in St. Brigid’s went to the City Hall in Cork last Thursday for the annual Cork Pops Orchestra Concert. The theme of this year’s concert was "The Colours of Music" where active and imaginative listening skills of the students were encouraged.

The students were treated to performances of the classics by the live orchestra as well as some very colourful songs led by the Voice of Ireland winner, Keith Hanley. D.J. Dashka demonstrated how he works with both sound and colour using the latest music technology.

Students from all over Munster were introduced to the joy of classical music through this entertaining, inspiring and educational experience. All students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and before the finale were dancing and singing in the aisles to popular songs like "Closer" , "Can't Stop the Feeling" as well as "Friend like Me" . A great day was had by all.
