Junior Football Update

St. Brigid’s Junior Football team emerged victorious against St. Mary’s Mallow on a score line of 6-15 to 6-08. The game was played in Millstreet GAA grounds who were thankfully able to give the teams use of the field despite the bad weather.

All the St. Brigid’s  team played very well on the day especially considering the tough underfoot conditions. Evie Culloty had an excellent game in goals and managed to keep the opposition at bay through her kick outs and saves. The half time score of 5-09 to 2-02 in favour of St. Brigid’s reflected their early dominance.

There was little ‘The Pres’ could do when St. Mary’s scored an early penalty in the second half and began to cut the Killarney girls' half time lead . This made for a thrilling ending as St. Brigid’s hung in there and managed to keep their Cork counterparts at bay.

It was a great test for the team and this squad is really improving with every game. They now progress to the Munster semi-final stage. The other Quarter finals have yet to be played so at the moment St. Brigid’s will continue training in preparation for whoever they may face. Well done to all involved
