Junior Football News January 2018

On Wednesday the 24th January  St. Brigid’s Junior Football team emerged victorious against St. Flannan’s on a score line of 3-7 to 3-4 in the Munster PPS Junior B semi-final. The game was played in Rathkeale GAA grounds in extremely blustery conditions.

St. Flannan’s had the breeze on their side in the first half and put St. Brigid’s under serious pressure as they lead at half time with a score line of 3-4 to 2 goals.

With the aid of the wind St. Brigid’s upped their game and made a major come back. With five minutes to go the teams were level.  This made for a thrilling ending as St. Brigid’s hung in there and managed to keep their Ennis components at bay and came away with a 3 point lead..

All the St. Brigid’s  team played with great heart and displayed spectacular teamwork. It was a great test for the team. They now progress to the Munster final which will be played in the coming weeks. Well done to all involved.
