St Brigid's Bake Off

Recently, the St. Brigid’s Bake Off took place in the school. A large number of students took part from various years and “baked off” in the Senior and Junior Categories. The girls had three hours to make and decorate their cakes. In the Junior Category, the task was to bake a novelty cake. First prize in the Junior Category went to Sophie Dennehy (1 Green) with her chocolate mud pig cake. Clodagh O’ Connor (2 Red) came second with a farm scene inspired chocolate sponge, and Becci Fleming (1 Green) came third with an iced maderia cake decorated with buttercream and fondant icing.

In the Senior Category, the challenge was to bake a cake inspired by the theme of Wellbeing. This category was won by Laura Kenny (4 Blue) with her lemon sponge decorated with buttercream and fondant icing.

The judges had a very difficult task to decide between all of the delicious entries! A lot of hard work and detail went into making and decorating the cakes. Well done to all involved and thanks to Ms. O Donoghue and the Home Ec department for organising the event.
