The Music Department get involved in numerous events throughout the school year here is just a glimpse of what they get up to……
Drumming workshops are held each year for Music students in St Brigid's. Students get an opportunity to perform together and try out new instruments in a fun-filled and active workshop. Usually one of the highlights of the year!
6th year students get the wonderful opportunity to visit London on a Science & Music Trip. A trip to the West End to see a show is one of the highlights.
Bryan O’Leary gave a workshop to Senior Music students on the life and music of his Grandfather & local icon, Johnny O’Leary.
As well as St Brigid’s having a school Choir they also have a Barbershop Quartet Group.
Ukulele performances are always very popular.

The School Choir performing some Christmas Carols at the Brehon Hotel for the turning on of the Christmas Lights, in aid of St Vincent de Paul.

2nd year Music students wrote, directed, filmed and acted in a Short Film on the life of local music icon, Johnny O’ Leary. Great fun was had on set in Muckross Farm.
Some 3rd year students taking part in a ‘Found Sounds Workshop’ with JJ O’ Riordan. Students composed a piece using sounds found around them and learned how to apply various recording techniques and effects to finish off the piece.
