This year was the fifth year of the CEIST award being presented here at St.Brigid's. A perpetual trophy is awarded after a process of teacher nominations to a 6th year student who best reflects the core values of CEIST, namely promoting spiritual and human development, achieving quality in learning, showing respect for everyone, creating community and being just and responsible. This year, the award was given to Kelly O Halloran, who was highly commended in the teacher nominations for her commitment to the values of CEIST and for her wonderful contribution to the school. She is truly a deserving recipient of this award and we wish her every success in her future career.

Well done to Lynne Fahy, Rebecca Doyle, Nike Rujevan and Sarah McGrath who competed in the IMTA Junior Maths Quiz recently.

Transition Year students from Presentation Secondary School Killarney presented a cheque for €1400 to John Warren from St. Vincent de Paul and to Ronan Doherty from Novas. The students participated in a sleep in in the school and raised awareness and money to help these organizations to combat the issue of homelessness.&nbsp.

Second year students Kara Huggard and Mahima Sultana Sujan hosted a HB Ice Cream Funday in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland. The girls raised over €300 with great support from their fellow students. The girls would like to thank Tesco for their support.

The St. Brigid's First Year Soccer team played St. Mary's Charleville in their final Shannonside League game recently.

In a keenly contested game, St. Brigid's eventually won 4-0. Goals on the day came from Aimee Coffey (2), Claire Culhane, and Kayley O'Sullivan.
