The beautiful school mural was completed at St.Brigids this April which was a creative collective of inspirations from student and staff brought to reality by collating Street Artist Kevin O’Brien’s designs. One panel of the wall was specially dedicated to honour the memory and work of the Killarney Presentation Sisters. Former and current members of staff were invited to lend a hand in its creation. Listening to the fond stories and connections that they all had of the sisters was a beautiful example of how special these woman were and how they had such an impact on those around them and how this carries through to the community of Killarney today.
Visual Art has the power to enhance a school environment for all that use the space and impact the mood and mindset of its audience. None of this would have been possible without the support of our Principal Roisin Moore who has always been an advocate of the Arts at St. Brigids, she will be dearly missed. May her legacy and the women who came before her continue to live on in the colourful stories told and seen.
